Tortured Poets Styled Shoot (Editorial)

Get ready to be swept away by the drama and romance of our Tortured Poets styled shoot! Inspired by none other than Taylor Swift’s latest album and her breathtakingly dramatic Victorian-era "Fortnight" music video, we embraced moody, rich tones with a fresh, modern twist on vintage Victorian elements. Think deep reds, moody greys, dramatic blacks, and crisp whites, all coming together at the Gallery Studios in Calgary for an unforgettable visual feast.

Our all-star vendor team absolutely nailed it, capturing the heartache and passion of a tortured poet in love. The ceremony scene was pure magic, with floating paper—a nod to Swift’s video—symbolizing the whirlwind of emotions love brings. And then there was our stunning bride, Nicole, who not only rocked a dramatic black tulle gown but designed and created it herself as the talented owner of NRT Fashions! Against a moody black backdrop, her look was completed by Wildflower Artistry's flawless makeup, a striking bouquet from Hue Florals, and romantic black lace gloves. Pearl earrings and ruby rings from Alberta Diamond Exchange added the perfect touch of elegance and drama.

The reception setup was a dreamy mix of vintage and modern - sleek black charlie chairs surrounding a soft grey linen table, decked out with vintage chargers, ornate cocktail coupes, and timeless silverware. Black candles entwined with lush florals set the stage under a breathtaking hanging installation, with pearls and fruit adding to the opulent vibe. Even the glassware had flair—black ribbons tied around the stems with guest names beautifully calligraphed by Letter Pretty. And the hand-lettered mirror, showcasing Taylor Swift’s lyrics, was the ultimate poetic touch.

Kenzie May Co’s stationery suite was the perfect fit, with handmade paper invitations adorned with pearls and finished off with elegant black wax seals. Our final two scenes—the striking vintage typewriter and the show-stopping cake from Bake My Day—brought the whole look to another level of depth and drama.

Captured by the talented Amber of Onyx and Amber Photography and filmed by Jessah of Jessah Blessah Films, this shoot brought to life the intoxicating beauty of love and heartbreak with a bold, Victorian-inspired twist!
